Donating unsold equipment, unwanted fencing equipment or uniforms is a practical, cost-effective and environmentally friendly way for you, your school or organization to help to support the growth of fencing in Jamaica. To some of us fencers, the simplest of pleasures often occur during our high school and collegiate fencing careers in the salle — long, invigorating, sometimes frustrating practices full of victorious and defeating bouts. We sometimes take for granted the ease with which we can borrow practice gear, slip on a fencing glove, replace a broken blade, or change that sword to one with the perfect grip.
But for many other fencers including some on our own high school and university teams, to some around the world fencing equipment is a luxury they cannot afford. Fencing can be notoriously expensive, from registration fees, to fencing lessons, to uniforms and proper equipment. And what is fencing without a sword, glove, mask and jacket?
If you’re cleaning out the locker, upgrading equipment and notice old gloves, swords, masks or fencing gear, consider passing them on to our fencers who will be able to use them.
