Dear JFF Friends and Supporters,

To date our efforts to bring the sport of Fencing to Jamaica ensures that young Jamaicans will have the tools they need in order to be local and global leaders. JFF is positioning itself to mentor and to uplift our youth by employing the art of Fencing as a vehicle and tool to reach that goal. As the JFF grows we are continually humbled by the impact our fencers have in their local communities and around the world. I understood early on that engaged youth are the key to successful communities, and established the Jamaican Fencing Federation with its five guiding core values that I inherited: Etiquette, Modesty, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit.

Over this year, JFF has had the privilege of meeting and working with so many talented and passionate individuals across the globe that share our vision. With very active support from the International Fencing Federation’s (FIE) Global Developmental Program, JFF is proud to report our efforts will be enhanced locally in Jamaica.

We have worked globally with several professionals and fencing federations to prepare for the journey ahead of us. We are now poised to begin our international campaign to engage the myriad youth who can represent Jamaican Fencing around the world, forge new partnerships with organizations and rapidly mobilize youth to support the initiate to build their own futures.

Moving forward, we look forward to seeing profound accomplishments from the Fencers we support.  As our friends and supporters, I hope you have a chance to meet the young fencers we will impact. They have taught me and our entire executive team about the power youth have in the world.

I encourage you to reach out to our team to find out how you can get involved, perhaps learn to fence, support our work, and put a sword of change in the hands of our youth.

Yours In Service,

James A. McBean
